The reagent is widely used as a food additive, as numerous studies have proven its extremely low level of danger to human health. When ingested salt of altarboy acid is not involved in oxidation and is rapidly eliminated in a natural way. The additive is considered so safe that its dosages are not normalized in the manufacture of food products.
Sodium eritorbate is an E316 food additive approved in the Russian Federation, the USA, Canada and the EU: an antioxidant, acidity regulator, emulsifier, color and consistency stabilizer. It is used to improve the taste and aroma, accelerate salting, and increase the shelf life by 4-5 times. The use of this additive allows to reduce several times the amount of nitrates and nitrites added to the product; it prevents the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines. It also improves the stability and effectiveness of other antioxidants, such as ascorbic acid. Demanded:
- in the manufacture of cooked, cooked-smoked, semi-smoked sausages, meat and fish semi-finished products, canned food and preserves, hams,
- frozen fish;
- vegetable and animal oils and fats, cheeses;
- dough, confectionery and bakery products;
- alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (juices, beer, wine);
- dry milk;
- fruit and vegetable preserves (jams, jams, marmalades);
- sauces'.
- It is allowed to use E316 in the production of baby food.
